Year of the Sea
2018 is Visit Wales "Year of the Sea" where we celebrate our close connection to the wonderful coastline of the St Davids peninsula, part of Britain's only coastal national park. In recognition of this, we've launched our 2018 photograph competition based on this. Did you have an amazing beach day? Or maybe you spotted seals or porpoise during a walk along the coast path or on a boat trip? Why not submit your photo and be in with a chance to win some fantastic prizes.
Photographs must be taken WITHIN the St Davids Peninsula, be original and the location must be identifiable.
Entry is open to everyone except members and their families of the St Davids Peninsula Tourist Association (SPTA) Committee and is free of charge.
A photograph may only be entered ONCE for the duration of the competition. All entries are accepted in good faith and will be judged on an equal and anonymous basis. The judges decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into. Final entry to the competition closes on 15th November 2018.
This year we have decided to run three mini-competitions throughout the year with closing dates of June 15th, September 15th and November 15th. Public voting for each stage starts on the 16th, although this is just for fun and will have little impact on the committees judgment.
Judging will take place a week or so later with the next stage opened at the start of the next month. Winners will be notified by email, announced on the web site and a prizes sent out in the post.
Registration (email and password) is required to submit photographs. A maximum of 10 Photographs per person, per stage may be submitted. Please ensure that your images are under 4MB before uploading. Please note that your uploaded photographs will NOT display immediately; we have to verify that each photograph is appropriate (may take a few days).
By submitting a photograph, the photographer is permitting the St Davids Peninsula Tourist Association the right to use that photograph in its advertising and information publications (Broad sheet brochure and online). The St Davids Peninsula Tourist Association commits not to pass on, sell or use a submitted photograph for commercial gain by itself or third parties (such as in calendars, books and magazines etc that may be subject to monetary charge).
The copyright of the photograph is retained by the photographer.
